The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, was greeted this morning in front of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova by the head of the legislature, Igor Grosu, reports IPN.


The two exchanged a few words before entering the Parliament building, then withdrew for official discussions.



Roberta Metsola signed in the Parliament’s Book of Honor. Then, alongside Igor Grosu, she entered the plenary meeting room, where she was greeted with applause by the Moldovan deputies.





The solemn session of the legislature began with the intonation of the anthem of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. Roberta Metsola started her speech in Romanian and emphasized the importance of the European path of the Republic of Moldova.






After the session at the Parliament, Roberta Metsola went to the Presidency, where she was greeted by the head of state, Maia Sandu. Their bilateral discussion was followed by a joint press conference.
