Prime Minister Dorin Recean will pay a working visit to Romania on Wednesday, March 27. He will take part in the second edition of the Moldova-Romania Forum: Capital Bridges 2024, IPN reports.
The Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă said the event is organized by the Bucharest Stock Exchange together with partners from Moldova and Romania. “It is a follow-up to the first such highly successful event that took place in 2022. The event promotes solid economic cooperation and interconnection of capital markets between the Republic of Moldova and Romania,” stated the spokesman.
According to him, Premier Recean at the forum will give a speech on the need for more investments, more economic contacts between agents and businesspeople from both banks of the Prut River.
The event will also be attended by the President of the Romanian Senate Nicolae Ciucă, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Igor Grosu, Prime Minister of Romania Marcel Ciolacu and other officials, including the governors of the central banks of the two countries.
“The participants will also discuss the macroeconomic reforms, investment opportunities and progress in Moldova’s banking sector, paving the way for improving the bilateral economic relations in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the EU and the colossal support that Romania offers in this regard,” stated Daniel Vodă.
The Government’s delegation includes Minister of Finance Petru Rotaru and Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization. According to Daniel Vodă, March 27 is a symbolic day as on March 27, 1918, the Moldavian Democratic Republic (Bessarabia) united with the Kingdom of Romania.
