NAC and specialized prosecutor’s offices are corruption nests that should be liquidated, statement

The public association “Citizens for Rights of Children, Invalids and Pensioners” demands to address the juridical incompetence of the government by replacing current functionaries from the system with others who will be chosen at transparent contests, with the exam being filmed and broadcast live and with the result of the written test being published.

“The National Anticorruption Center and the specialized prosecutor’s offices, such as the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, are corruption nests that should be liquidated,” Constantin Bobu, a member of the Association, stated in a news conference staged by IPN.

The Association’s chairman Ilie Rotaru said that Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco and the head of the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities Olesea Stamate should be dismissed. “They don’t know the real situation. They always drew up bills for money so as to mislead those from abroad and those who financed these,” stated Ilie Rotaru.

“How is it possible for the legal counselor of the Government of the Republic of Moldova – a member of the legal elite of the Republic of Moldova – to come to the hearing and say that the Government does not have the legal entity right? How is it possible for the prosecutor in the hearing to stand up and oppose the lawyer’s objections to the prosecutor’s statements and actions and to try and persuade the judge that the lawyer does not have such a right?” asked Ilie Rotaru, suggesting that the governmental counselor does not have legal competence.

According to the Association’s chairman, no one wants to assess concrete cases handled by the Prosecutor’s Office and courts of law. “If we study the cases managed by the prosecutors and judges, we will see that the situation is serious. No one wants to hear about this. No one wants to see what the heads of Moldova’s Prosecutor’s Offices, district prosecutor’s offices, the Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and PCCOCS deal with even if their activities can be easily determined,” said Ilie Rotaru.

The “Eugen Doga” International Airport in Chisinau has launched a public tender for the current repair and maintenance of the asphalt concrete surfaces of the aerodrome platform. The estimated value of the contract is 67.2 million lei, excluding VAT, reports IPN.

According to the announcement published on the public procurement platform, bids can be submitted during the period of August 3-17, after the clarification request stage has ended, which will take place until August 3.

According to the technical documentation, a large part of the investment is intended for the repair of platform no. 1, where the aircraft parking spots are located. The verified estimate for these works is approximately 55 million lei, including VAT.

The repairs are not limited to the area where the aircraft are stationed, but also target the infrastructure used daily by airport services. Thus, the repairs also include the connection area between the control point and the aerodrome platform, the parking area designated for airport vehicles, the area where the workshops and material depots are located, as well as the area of the fuel supply station. At the same time, work will also be carried out on the access road to the passenger terminal.

The specification book indicates that the need for interventions was identified following technical inspections. The documentation further stipulates that the interventions will be carried out in operational areas and with restricted access, without affecting the airport’s activity.
