The woman who killed her 5-year-old son in Căușeni and then tried to commit suicide suffers from an organic delusional disorder. She was undergoing treatment as she was affected by the loss of another child and her husband.
“In a state of affect, she had a behavior whose result we know, very regrettable. At the moment of realization, she tried to commit suicide. She experienced a number of traumas – she lost a child; she lost her husband who suffered from cancer. It is a distinct case. It happens all over the world,” Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco told the press.
According to the minister, the woman was undergoing treatment, being monitored by the social worker, who had visited her two days before the tragedy.
It happened on September 16 in a locality of Căușeni district. At the scene, the police found the body of a 5-year-old boy. The child’s mother, aged 39, had a neck wound.
The woman is in the care of doctors. She can now talk to the police, said Ala Nemerenco.
A criminal case for murder was started against her.
