Households in central and southern Moldova powered by the utility Premier Energy will pay 4.62 lei/kWh, down from the current charge of 5.91 lei/kWh. In the northern regions, households powered by FEE Nord will pay 4.65 lei/kWh, down from 5.60 lei/kWh at present.
The rate approved by the Energy Regulatory Agency ANRE for the Premier Energy clients coincides with what the utility asked, while FEE Nord got less, after asking 5.35 lei/kWh.
The updated Premier Energy charges, depending on the location of the node in the grid and on voltage, are as follows:
– 3.96 lei/kWh for electricity supplied to the point of entry into the transmission network;
– 4.10 lei/kWh for electricity supplied to the point of exit from the transmission network;
– 4.12 lei/kWh for end consumers connected to high-voltage lines (35–110 kV);
– 4.26 lei/kWh for end consumers connected to medium-voltage lines (6–10 kV);
– 4.62 lei/kWh for end consumers connected to low-voltage lines (0.4 kV).
For FEE Nord, the updated rates are as follows:
– 3.65 lei/kWh for electricity supplied to the point of entry into the transmission network;
– 3.80 lei/kWh for electricity supplied to the point of exit from the transmission network;
– 4.00 lei/kWh for end consumers connected to medium-voltage lines (6-10 kV);
– 4.65 lei/kWh for end consumers connected to the low-voltage grid (0.4 kV).
Lowering the rates has been possible after the government reached a deal with the Kuchurgan/MGRES power plant earlier this month.
