Consultations in Chisinau schools for enrolling students in extended program groups

Parents of students in the city of Chisinau will be asked if they wish to enroll their children in extended program groups for the next school year. The General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport announces that it has issued an order in this regard to educational institutions, so that they can organize consultations by the end of June, reports IPN.

The deputy head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport, Andrei Pavaloi, stated that each institution will have a unique application model and a parent’s declaration on their own responsibility. Through this, the parent confirms that they have been informed about the program and the operating rules of the extended schedule groups, funded from the municipal budget.

Andrei Pavaloi stated that by July 15th, a preliminary network of extended program groups for the 2026-2027 academic year is expected to be finalized.

In the city of Chisinau, there are currently around 1,100 extended program groups. These groups typically operate for three or six hours and are adapted to the students’ daily schedule.

Economic operators and service providers will be required to ensure the accessibility of products and services for people with disabilities, the elderly, and individuals with temporary or permanent functional limitations. The accessibility requirements are contained in a bill voted on in the first reading by Parliament, reports IPN.

The new requirements will target six areas: technology and software programs, e-commerce, financial services, transportation, services provided by public institutions, and emergency communications. The regulations will also apply to electronic communication services, access to audiovisual media services, web pages, mobile applications, and self-service terminals.

Accessibility requirements will also be mandatory for certain products, such as hardware systems, payment terminals, ATMs, and e-book readers. Micro-enterprises that offer services will be exempt from complying with these obligations.

The project, developed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, aims to increase the autonomy and inclusion of people who face access difficulties.

Non-compliance with accessibility requirements will be subject to administrative penalties. The project will be examined in the second reading, and the new rules will come into effect on January 1, 2028, with certain exceptions for products and services.
