The Buiucani Police Inspectorate at about midday was informed that there was an explosive device inside the Chisinau City Court situated on Stefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd. Access to the place was restricted and the employees were evacuated. The information was confirmed for IPN by the Chisinau Police Division’s press officer Natalia Stati.
According to her, a task force of the Buiucani Police Inspectorate and specialized services travelled to the scene immediately. Both the employees and the citizens who were inside were evacuated and the area was enclosed.
Searches are now being carried out.
Update /03:09pm/ According to Natalia Stati, the bomb squad found no explosive devices inside the Court. Legal action was taken in this case. Investigation officers are taking steps to identify the person who called the 112 Service. If this is found, he/she will be punished with a fine of up to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or at most two years in jail.
The last bomb threat was reported on Maria Cebotari St in Centru district of Chisinau. It turned out to be a hoax.
