The end-users who have debts for heat have been visited by bailiffs and representatives of the creditor. According to a communiqué from the public utility SA Termocom, some of the debtors were given extra time to settle the debts. Otherwise, they will remain without possessions, IPN reports.

Seven persons with debts preferred to fully clear the debts for heat and the bailiff’s commission, two persons paid partially the debts, while over 35 persons were warned that they must repay the debts within 10 days.

Under the legislation, the bailiff can sequestrate the property or money of the debtors and ban them from performing certain acts or ban other persons from transmitting goods to the debtors.

The National Commission for European Integration held its first meeting in its new composition, following the inauguration of the Government led by Vasile Tofan. President Maia Sandu, who presides over the commission, urged the institutions involved in the European integration process to stay mobilized and coordinate their efforts to maintain the pace of reforms, reports IPN.

During the meeting, the balance of the implementation of the National Accession Program for the first semester of the year was presented, and progress on chapters 23 and 24, which focus on justice, fundamental rights, freedom and security, were analyzed.

The members of the Commission have examined the European integration priorities of the new Government, as well as the preparations for the 2026 Expansion Package, through which the European Commission will annually assess the progress made by the Republic of Moldova.

The head of state emphasized that progress on the European path is built through consistently implemented reforms and through concrete results, felt by the citizens.

The National Commission for European Integration coordinates the implementation of the necessary reforms for the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union and ensures cooperation between public authorities and other institutions involved in the country’s European journey.

The Ministry of Health has ordered an inspection at the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (AMDM), following information published in the press about alleged irregularities in the institution’s activities. This concerns possible schemes in the evaluation process of medical devices, as well as accusations of unfair competition and lobbying in favor of certain economic agents, reports IPN.

According to the Ministry of Health, the institution treats with “utmost seriousness” the notifications that target the safety of patients and the integrity of subordinate institutions. Thus, the authorities will check the process of registering medical devices, contracts with external experts, and signals regarding the quality of certain products used in hospitals. At the same time, the circumstances under which AMDM gave up the appeal in a case that targeted two types of catheters whose use was banned in 2024 will be verified.

The Ministry has also announced an emergency assessment of signals regarding the quality of intravenous catheters used in pediatric medical institutions in the city of Chisinau. The targeted medical units will have to present existing complaints and reports, and the authorities will collect samples and identify an accredited laboratory for their testing. In parallel, the conflict of interest and confidentiality statements of the specialists involved in the evaluation of medical devices will be analyzed, including those who are concurrently active in other institutions within the health system.

The Ministry specifies that the results of the checks will be made public. If irregularities are identified, the measures provided by law will be applied, and the information related to the competence of the legal bodies or the integrity authorities will be passed on to them.

Furthermore, the institution asks medical staff to report, through the national vigilance system, any case where medical devices with possible quality deficiencies are identified. In the event of confirmed non-conformities, the authorities say they can order the restriction or withdrawal of products from the market.
