A new yellow code for atmospheric instability has been issued by meteorologists for Friday, between the hours of 02:00 PM-11:00 PM. According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, short-term rains are expected, accompanied by electrical discharges, and in isolated cases, hail showers and gales, reports IPN.
According to SHS, the amounts of precipitation can reach up to 15-45 liters per square meter in isolated areas, and the wind will blow in gusts of up to 54-72 kilometers per hour. Meteorologists mention that the warning can be updated depending on the evolution and intensity of the forecasted phenomena.
At the same time, hydrologists forecast from Friday to Saturday, 08:00 AM, variations in the water level of 10-20 centimeters on the Nistru river. On Prut, the hydrological regime will not change significantly. On some small rivers, increases in the water level of 10-20 centimeters are possible, and on the Bâc river, at the Merenii Noi hydrometric post, the water level could rise by approximately 120 centimeters. The water will flow within the limits of the minor riverbed.
According to meteorologists, the phenomena are generated by an active southern cyclone in the region during the period of May 20-23.
