The Border Police reports heavy traffic of travelers and transport means at the common crossing point Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe, in the direction of entering the Republic of Moldova, reports IPN.

The authority specifies that it is taking measures to streamline cross-border traffic, however, it recommends participants to opt for crossing the border through the Tudora-Starokazacie point, as much as possible.

The 400 kV Overhead Power Line from Vulcanesti to Chisinau has been energized up to the Chisinau Power Station. According to the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, the final tests and checks are to follow before the line is put into commercial operation, reports IPN.

“Putting it under tension allows us to test the operation of the entire route, the protection equipment, the control systems, and the behavior of the installations under real operating conditions. This project is not just about 157 kilometers of power line. It means the possibility of directly transporting energy from Romania to the center of the Republic of Moldova, without the vulnerabilities of the old infrastructure”, declared Dorin Junghietu.

Previously, the Minister of Energy made a visit to the Chisinau Power Station to check the results of the technical tests carried out last week and the preparations for the next stage. He discussed with representatives of the contractor Electromontaj SA, the consulting company overseeing the works, and the operator of the electric power transmission system, Moldelectrica.
