The retail trade margin for fuel will increase by 48 bani per liter, both for gasoline and diesel, starting from August 1st. Therefore, it will reach 4.30 lei for a liter of gasoline and 4.32 lei for diesel, after including in the calculation the contribution for the establishment of emergency stocks of petroleum products, reports IPN.

The changes were approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, by revising the decision on the specific commercial margin for the second semester of 2026. Previously, the institution had approved a commercial margin of 3.82 lei per liter for gasoline and 3.84 lei for diesel for the second semester.

According to ANRE, the decision aims to strengthen the security of the Republic of Moldova’s petroleum product supply. The establishment of emergency stocks will allow authorities to respond more efficiently in the event of supply interruptions, regional crises, or other exceptional situations that could affect the availability of fuels on the market. The measure is intended to increase the resilience of the oil sector and ensure the continuity of supply to consumers in the long term.

The decision will come into effect on August 1, after publication in the Official Gazette.
