There will be dense fog in the period between this evening and tomorrow noon. Weather forecasters issued a yellow warning for thick fog, IPN reports.

The State Weather Service said there will be fog all over Moldova between 6pm on January 13 and 12 noon on January 14. Visibility will be low, of 200 meters and less.

Given the expected reduced visibility, the drivers are urged to maintain a greater distance between vehicles and to keep the headlights on during the day, including the fog lights.

The National Agency for Energy Regulation proposes a natural gas tariff close to that requested by Energocom. The regulator estimates a price of 18.80 lei for one cubic meter of gas, excluding VAT, about 60 bani lower than the company’s request. For domestic consumers, the proposed tariff would reach 20.30 lei for one cubic meter, including VAT, reports IPN.

Similar differences are also found for the other categories of consumers. For consumers connected to high-pressure distribution networks, ANRE proposes a tariff of 14.22 lei for one cubic meter of gas, compared to 14.80 lei requested by Energocom. For those connected to medium-pressure networks, the proposed tariff is 15.29 lei for one cubic meter, compared to 15.87 lei requested by the company.

Energocom submitted the tariff adjustment application on July 15th. The company’s representatives have explained the need for an increase due to the rising costs of natural gas acquisition and the accumulation of a tariff deficit estimated at over 106 million lei.

The Ministry of Defense aims to ensure that, by 2028, at least 60% of priority critical infrastructure areas are protected by drone detection and neutralization systems. Currently, according to the authorities, coverage with such systems is limited. This provision is included in the government’s action plan titled “European Economy, Efficient State,” IPN reports.

According to the document, the National Army will be modernized by developing surveillance, radar, and early-warning capabilities, as well as by equipping it with anti-drone systems. Plans also include modernizing military communications and command-and-control systems, as well as strengthening cybersecurity.

The program also calls for increased military mobility through the development of logistical, medical, and transportation capabilities to enable the rapid deployment of forces.

By 2028, the government plans to complete the military camp in Bacioi and modernize at least 18 military facilities. By that time, the radar and early warning system is expected to reach a technical readiness level of at least 35% and a staffing level of at least 55%.

In the area of national resilience, the authorities aim to fully operationalize the State Register of Defense Resources and digitize the records of human, material, and technical resources. In addition, at least two major interagency exercises will be organized annually.
