The interim director of the Balti Clinical Hospital, Iurie Osoianu, is stepping down following the public exposure of the poor conditions in the hospital’s food block. The board of directors accepted the resignation request, and the interim management will be ensured by Vladimir Pascaru. The announcement was made by the Minister of Health, Emil Ceban, after a visit to the hospital on Thursday, reports IPN.
The Minister stated that the images reflect the real situation, and the conditions found cannot be justified. “Balti Clinical Hospital must be a reference for the north of the country. This institution needs massive investments. I have already ordered the urgent allocation of over half a million lei for the design of the major renovation of the food block,” mentions Emil Ceban.
Following the release of the images, the hospital announced that it will resort to catering services to ensure the feeding of the patients. At the same time, the institution has initiated the procurement of design services for the renovation of the food block and is in the process of contracting the company that will develop the technical project.
