The airspace, reopened after the disappearance of the drone from the radar

The airspace in the north and center was reopened at 04:59 PM, after a drone previously detected in the Hancesti district and later in the south of the country, in the Cahul area, disappeared from the radar, reports IPN.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the drone was monitored until 04:26 PM, when it disappeared from the radar near the town of Mingir, Hancesti district. At 04:55 PM, the device reappeared in the area of Colibasi, Cahul district, and at 04:58 PM it crossed the village of Caslita Prut, subsequently disappearing from the radar near Giurgiulesti.

The unmanned flying device entered the country around 04:00 PM, from the direction of Moghiliov Podolsk, Vinitsa region.

An employee of a security company has been declared wanted, after being sentenced to three years in prison for inhumane treatment of two individuals, while carrying out his duties. According to law enforcement, the man unjustifiably resorted to the use of physical force, exceeding his responsibilities, reports IPN.

According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the first incident took place in June 2022, at a karaoke-type venue in the Botanica sector of the capital. The security agents intervened following the activation of the alarm button, as a result of a conflict between a customer and the venue’s staff. The security company’s employee hit, immobilized, and exerted violence on the man, even after the victim requested police intervention by calling 112. The man was held to the ground and handcuffed with a plastic collar, despite complaining of severe pain.

The second case occurred three months after the first incident, near a 24/7 grocery store, also in the Botanica sector. The intervention of the agents was requested following a conflict that broke out between a customer and a store employee. According to the case files, the security guard immobilized the man, hit him while he was on the ground, and later kicked him in the back. In this case too, the victim called the 112 Service.

Law enforcement officials mention that as a result of the two incidents, the injured parties suffered bodily harm, confirmed by forensic medical examinations.

The Russian appellate court has upheld the sentence by which the Moldovan Evgheni Cijen was sentenced to 13 years in prison for espionage, reports the publication Mediazona, cited by IPN.

Evgheni Cijen, aged 26, was convicted in the first instance on February 16. He has been in custody since November 2024.

The trial was conducted behind closed doors, and the details of the charges against the Moldovan are not known. Cijen and his defenders did not comment on the decision of the appeal court.

Such cases have become more frequent after 2022, against the backdrop of FSB actions against foreign citizens accused of espionage or treason. Trials usually take place behind closed doors. In June, a Romanian citizen was sentenced in Russia to 15 years in prison for espionage in favor of Ukraine.
