A former public official with special status within the General Inspectorate of Police was found with unjustified wealth of over 2.5 million lei. The finding act regarding Adrian Gologan was issued by the National Integrity Authority after an inspection that covered the period 2018-2024, reports IPN.

The investigation was triggered following a report from 2024, which stated that Adrian Gologan had declared income of approximately 4 million lei from donations and inheritances. In his explanations to the inspectors, he specified that the amount largely came from the gifts received at the wedding, however, ANI noted that these incomes were not properly reflected in the wealth declarations submitted afterwards.

At the same time, the analysis of the patrimony revealed a series of significant acquisitions and transactions, including repeated purchases and sales of cars and real estate, alongside considerable cash expenditures. The inspectors concluded that the explanations provided are not supported by sufficient evidence and that the real value of the confirmed donations is much lower than the declared one.

Under these circumstances, the authority ordered the transfer of the case to court for the confiscation of unjustified wealth and the imposition of a three-year ban on holding public positions.

The decision can be contested within 30 days.
