On March 28, Castel Mimi will slow down its pace for a few hours. The lights will go out, candles will be lit, and dinner will be prepared and served without electricity — even in the kitchen.

To mark Earth Hour, the castle will completely switch off its electric lighting. The courtyard and halls will be illuminated by more than 2,000 candles, and the experience will extend to the kitchen, where dishes will also be prepared by candlelight.

The evening features a multi-course menu created by Castel Mimi’s chefs. The menu includes, among others, salmon tartare with avocado, burrata with confit tomatoes, pumpkin velouté, sea bass, duck magret, and halva parfait — each paired with wines from the winery’s collection.

Through this initiative, Castel Mimi marks Earth Hour and reaffirms its commitment to sustainability. In 2025, approximately 80% of the complex’s electricity was generated by its own photovoltaic park, and over the past four years, more than 800 tons of CO₂ emissions have been avoided — equivalent to the annual emissions of around 180 cars.
