U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that he had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday evening, IPN reports.

“I had very good and productive discussions yesterday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and there is a very strong chance that this horrible and bloody war may finally come to an end. However, right now, thousands of Ukrainian troops are completely surrounded by Russian forces and in a very vulnerable position. I strongly urged President Putin to spare their lives. It would be a horrific massacre, one unseen since World War II. God bless them all!” the U.S. leader wrote on social media.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a press conference on Thursday evening that he conditionally accepts the U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine.

The cessation of hostilities in Ukraine was also discussed by Ukrainian and U.S. officials this week during negotiations in Saudi Arabia.

Children from the diaspora aged 7 to 12 will have the opportunity to discover Chisinau through a series of free educational and creative activities. From August 10 to 15, they will take part in tours of the capital, meetings with writers, and creative workshops organized by the “B. P. Hasdeu” Municipal Library under the auspices of the Chisinau City Hall, according to IPN.

Representatives of the institution note that the “At Home in Chisinau” summer camp offers a captivating journey into the city’s history and culture. Over the course of six days, children will explore iconic sites in the capital and discover legends and stories about Chisinau. The program also includes meetings with artisans, artistic activities, and traditional games.

With the exception of guided tours, all activities will take place at the main branch of the “B.P. Hasdeu” Municipal Library. Registration for the summer camp is open until August 7 and can be completed by filling out the online form.

The first edition, which took place online, was attended by 20 children from Germany, Italy, France, and Ireland.
