Clarifications for consumers who did not receive the electricity compensation in their bills

Consumers who did not receive the electricity compensation in their February bills will receive it next month for both February and March. This clarification was provided by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu, during a Government meeting, IPN reports.

“The supplier will make recalculations, and the compensations will be reflected in the next bill. Thus, all families in the Republic of Moldova will benefit from electricity compensations for the consumption period of February to December 2025,” said the minister.

The compensations cover the tariff increase for the first 110 kWh consumed, which represents 80% of the average monthly consumption for a family in the Republic of Moldova.

Eligible consumers in the “Help at the Meter” program will receive the compensation for February heating on March 10.

Four political formations would enter Parliament if early elections were to be held next Sunday, according to data from the IMAS socio-political Barometer – July 2026. The Action and Solidarity Party would receive 20.6% of the votes, the Party of Socialists – 14.9%, the “Democratia Acasa” Party – 10.2%, and the “Partidul Nostru” Political Party – 6.5%. At the same time, 27.6% of the respondents declare that they would not vote or that they do not know who they would vote for.

In a press conference at IPN, IMAS Director General Doru Petruti said that although the hierarchy of the parties remains largely unchanged, the survey indicates several changes in voters’ options. According to him, PAS is losing seven percentage points compared to the previous research, and the share of people who are undecided or would not vote is increasing.

Among respondents who expressed a clear voting preference, the results show a larger difference between formations. The Action and Solidarity Party would accumulate 28.5% of the votes, followed by the Party of Socialists – 20.6%, the “Democratia Acasa” Party – 14.1%, the “Partidul Nostru” Political Party – 8.9%, the National Alternative Movement Party – 5.8%, and the Party of Communists and the “Inima Moldovei” Party – each 5.6%. Other political formations would not pass the electoral threshold.

In terms of political sympathies, 21% of respondents mentioned PAS, 15% – PSRM, and 10% – PDA. At the same time, PAS also records the highest level of rejection: 51.5% of respondents say they would not vote for this formation. This is followed by PSRM, with 13.5%, and the Communist Party, with 10.2%.

Doru Petruti asserts that PAS maintains a reserve of voters who could be mobilized by the election, however, the party is experiencing an increase in anti-rating. According to the sociologist, the proportion of those who declare they would never vote for PAS has increased compared to previous studies, when it was around 40%.

The socio-political barometer IMAS was conducted during the period of July 10-20, on a sample of 1,015 individuals from 81 localities. The maximum margin of error is ±3.1%. The research was commissioned by Independent News (Romania).
