Students from all over Moldova have written thousands of letters to their peers in Ukraine, with messages of encouragement and support. The notes arrived on Friday at the Ministry of Education and Research and are to be forwarded to the Ukrainian Embassy, to be distributed to the recipients, reports IPN.
The initiative is part of the campaign “A letter is worth a hug”, dedicated to supporting children affected by war.
“The letters for the children in Ukraine are not just words written on paper. They represent messages of courage, peace, and solidarity. These letters are meant to show the children that we stand with them, and their pain is heard in every corner of the world,” mentioned Paula Rotari, the president of the Sangerei District Student Council.
The letters were collected during the period of 12-20 February, and participation in the campaign was voluntary.
