The case regarding the illegal financing of political parties, in which the former deputy Marina Tauber, affiliated with the fugitive Ilan Shor, is implicated, is still under review at the Court of Appeal.

So far, the prosecution has presented its evidence related to the appeal declared by the prosecutor, as well as the evidence related to the appeal requests submitted by the defense, the press service of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office specified for IPN.

The next court session is scheduled for January 19 and will continue with the examination of the evidence presented by the defense, related to the declared appeal requests.

The decision of the first instance was contested both by the defense lawyers and by the prosecutors, who disagreed on the part concerning the termination of the criminal process for interference in the administration of justice.

Marina Tauber was convicted in absentia on September 30. The former MP claims that the case against her is politically motivated and “rigged.” According to her, there is no evidence or facts to prove her guilt.

Marina Tauber has been announced for international search. She left Moldova on January 7, 2025, through Chisinau Airport, with the air route to Istanbul, Turkey.
