The Cathedral of the Nation’s Salvation in Bucharest – the largest Orthodox church in the world – remains open for visitation until November 14th, between the hours of 11:00 and 19:00, after which the holy edifice will be closed for the continuation of work on the interior installations, reports IPN.

According to the Romanian Patriarchate, on November 30th, the Holy Liturgy will be officiated in honor of Saint Andrew, the Protector of Romania and the National Cathedral. On Romania’s National Day, December 1st, a Te Deum will be officiated, and on December 2nd, the sanctuary will be open for visitation.

Subsequently, after a new period during which the interior works will continue without public access, the Cathedral will be reopened during the winter holidays, between December 24 and January 8, from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

The Cathedral of the Nation’s Salvation is the tallest and largest Orthodox church in the world. Located near the Palace of the Parliament, the cornerstone was laid in November 2007, with actual work beginning in 2010. The building impresses with its gilded domes, thousands of square meters of mosaic, and the capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 worshippers.

The consecration ceremony of the interior painting of the Cathedral, held on October 26th this year, was also attended by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
