An average salary of 20,000 lei across the economy and the creation of 10,000 well-paid jobs are among the main promises made today by the European Social Democratic Party as it launched its election campaign. The party’s slogan for these parliamentary elections is “Building the Future at Home,” according to IPN.

PSDE President Tudor Ulianovschi stressed that, in addition to decent wages, the party also aims to create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs and for the development of a stable economic climate. “We will offer a minimum pension of 5,000 lei, introduce 2% interest rates on loans, and create a single VAT rate of 8% in agriculture to support the country’s vital agricultural sector,” Ulianovschi said.

The PSDE leader claims that his team consists of professionals in all fields. “We have a strong and united team, ready to take over the government and put Moldova on the path to prosperity. We are not coming with illusions, we are coming with real and implementable solutions,” said the PSDE leader.

The election campaign for the parliamentary elections began on August 29 and will end on September 26.

Over 60 children aged between 7 and 10 years old learned about the role of a central bank and the importance of responsible financial decisions at the National Bank of Moldova. The young visitors discovered the collection of commemorative gold and silver coins and identified the safety features of banknotes using special equipment, reports IPN.

Speaking at the event “A vacantion day at the NBM,” Central Bank Governor Anca Dragu said that financial education begins in childhood, with children’s first questions about money and the world around them. The NBM governor encouraged participants to be curious and to confidently explore the world of money.

“Through this initiative, we have transformed learning into a captivating experience, where play, dialogue, and discovery naturally complement each other. A child who understands the value of money can become an adult who makes responsible decisions”, declared Anca Dragu.

During the visit, the children explored the exhibition hall of the BNM and discovered how money has evolved over time.

The Tiraspol administration has refused to delegate its political representative to Chisinau for a new round of “1+1” format negotiations. The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, stated that the Transnistrian side justified its decision by the fact that the subjects proposed by Chisinau would not be found on the negotiation agenda and by the existence of alleged security risks related to travel to the capital, reports IPN.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Chisinau intended to present information about the implementation of the Convergence Fund, as well as measures regarding VAT and excise duties, aimed at facilitating the activity of economic agents in the Transnistrian region. “We received a refusal stating that this subject is not part of the negotiation agenda,” the Deputy Prime Minister specified.

The official also rejected the arguments put forward by Tiraspol regarding alleged security issues, emphasizing that representatives of the Transnistrian administration often travel to Chisinau without encountering difficulties.

The latest negotiations in the “1+1” format took place in February and April, both meetings being held at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol.
