Students from the city of Balti are returning to physical attendance classes, starting Monday. The announcement was made by Mayor Alexandr Petkov, following the resolution of the potable water supply issue, reports IPN.
Schools switched to online education on March 17, while kindergartens operated as usual.
The authorities have instituted an environmental alert on the Dniester basin, which is in effect until the end of the month. The decision was made following the pollution caused by the bombing of the Novodnestrovsk hydroelectric power station.
Following the shutdown of the Cosauti water intake station on March 14, water supply was cut off in the city of Balti, as well as in the Soroca, Floresti and Sangerei districts.
