As of August 12, the Central Electoral Commission has registered the electoral bloc “Patriotic of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova”, the electoral bloc “Alternative”, and the electoral bloc “Together”. Their applications for participation in the electoral race, along with the lists of candidates for the position of deputy, are currently under review.

The electoral bloc “Patriotic of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova” preliminarily occupies the 10th position in the ballot and proposes 107 candidates for the position of deputy. The “Alternative” bloc, which has requested the registration of 103 candidates, provisionally appears in the 11th position. It is constituted by the MAN Party, the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova, the Collective Action Party “Civic Congress”, as well as the former prosecutor general, Alexandr Stoianoglo.

And the electoral block “Together” is formed by the Change Party and the Green Ecologist Party, and its list of candidates includes 59 names. Preliminarily, it occupies the 13th position on the ballot.

The period for submitting documents for the registration of candidates for the position of deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova began on July 20 and will end on August 19.

The regulation on the specifics of forming and registering electoral blocks was published in the June 19 edition of the Official Gazette.

The electoral block is formed based on an agreement between two or more political parties, registered by the Public Services Agency, and the decision of the constituent formations is recorded in a report, in accordance with their statutes.

“We appeal to the political parties to consult and abide by the provisions of the Regulation on the peculiarities of the formation and registration of electoral blocs, published also on the official page of the CEC, www.cec.md”, is stated in a statement issued by the CEC.

The electoral period for the parliamentary elections on September 28 will begin on July 14.

An electoral bloc is formed based on an agreement between two or more political parties registered with the Public Services Agency. The decision of a party to participate in the formation of the electoral bloc must be recorded in a protocol, approved according to the statute of the formation.

Political parties whose activity is limited cannot form electoral blocks.

The regulation will replace the instruction previously approved by the CEC decision from the year 2023. The text will be published on the official page www.cec.md, in the “Normative Framework” section, under the “Regulations” subsection.
