The temperatures continue to go down. The next days the thermometers will show temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius lower than the norm for this period, the head of the Meteorological Forecasts Division of the State Hydrometeorology Service Elina Pleshka has told Info-Prim Neo.

According to Elina Pleshka, at the start of next week the temperatures will drop to minus 4 degrees Celsius, while on the night of December 15 down to minus 11 degrees Celsius.

A warmer front will approach Moldova towards the middle of the week. Precipitation is forecast for December 16-17 – rain in the south and snow in the north.

The temperatures will rise for a short period of time to about 0 degrees Celsius. There will be glazed frost on the roads.

On December 17 and 18, the temperatures will vary between minus 1 and minus 6 degrees Celsius during the day and at nigh. Towards the end of the week, the weather will grow colder again.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has appointed Rustem Umerov as the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service. The appointment decree was signed by the leader in Kiev, reports IPN.

Until this appointment, Rustem Umerov held the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. In his place, the former Minister of Interior, Igor Klimenko, has been appointed as the head of the Council.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Rustem Umerov will continue to coordinate the “Drone Deal” initiative. According to the Ukrainian president, the new role will allow him to continue managing cooperation in the field of defense and diplomacy, negotiations with the United States and other partners, as well as the negotiation process regarding the end of the war triggered by Russia against Ukraine.

Rustem Umerov was a deputy, head of the State Property Fund, Minister of Defense, and later Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. In recent years, he has coordinated international negotiations on military support for Ukraine and led the Ukrainian delegation in talks with the United States and Russia on ending the war.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Afghanistan has received entry visas to the Republic of Moldova, but specifies that there will be no official contacts with its members. According to the MFA, the Government has ordered the verification of the procedures through which the invitation and visas were issued, reports IPN.

According to a press release from the MAE, the visit was initiated in the context of discussions held by local agricultural producers with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova regarding possible humanitarian exports to Afghanistan, a country facing a serious food insecurity situation.

The institution emphasizes that the members of the delegation arriving in the Republic of Moldova are not subject to international sanctions. At the same time, the authorities note that the Republic of Moldova respects international sanctions regimes and does not recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan.

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifies that there will be no bilateral meetings or official contacts between the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and the representatives of the Afghan delegation.
