Sfântul Gheorghe is getting closer to a qualification for the first time in the European Cups. The team coached by Serghei Cebotari outdistanced by 15 points the occupant of the 4^thplace, Milsami, after defeating it with 3-0 at Suruceni, IPN reports.

Suvorov opened the score in the 25^th minute after converting a free kick, but in the 74^th minute Milsami called for a penalty upon Dan Ciobanu’s penetration.

“with the 1-0 score it was a penalty clearly in our favour, but this is our football life,” Milsami coach Veaceslav Rusnac said at a press conference.

Sfântul Gheorghe scored another two goals at the end of the game, through Mandrîncenco and Calac. The team from Suruceni kept their 5-point lead against Petrocub, that defeated Zimbru, 1-0 score. The only goal was scored by Vladimir Ambros in the 64^th minute.

Today there are two other matches in the 22nd round of the National Division: Codru – Dinamo-Auto and Speranța – Sheriff.

Partial traffic restrictions on Pantelimon Halippa Street, for a month

Traffic will be suspended on one lane of Pantelimon Halippa street in the capital, during the period from July 30 to August 30. The restrictions will be applied in stages, predominantly at night, for the execution of maintenance and rehabilitation works on the roadway, reports IPN.

The Chisinau City Hall announces traffic restrictions also on Florilor Street. Traffic will be completely suspended from Friday, 10:00 PM, until Sunday, 06:00 AM, on the section between the roundabout from Bogdan Voievod Street and Florilor Street 4. The measure is necessary for the execution of thermal network repair works.

Also, traffic will be completely suspended on Feroviarilor Street in the city of Vatra during the period of July 31st to August 21st. The restriction is imposed for the installation works of a main water pipeline.

The municipal authorities recommend drivers to comply with the traffic officers’ indications and traffic rules in restricted areas.

A 69-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexual acts committed against a six-year-old child. In addition, the girl’s mother was sentenced to 15 years in prison for child trafficking for sexual exploitation, after she allegedly allowed the man to engage in sexual acts with her daughter for the sum of one hundred lei, reports IPN.

The General Prosecutor’s Office mentions that the two had known each other for several years, and the man frequently visited the woman’s home, who was 46 years old. One day, while the adults were consuming alcohol, the woman allegedly allowed him to enter the girl’s room, leading her to participate in a sexual act.

The girl ran away from home and took refuge in a nearby abandoned house, but her mother found her and, threatening her with physical violence, forced her to return home, where the minor was again compelled to participate in such acts.

According to law enforcement, the two did not admit their guilt. The man claimed that the accusations were based on a personal conflict with the girl’s father, while the woman denied exploiting her daughter or receiving money for this purpose. The prosecution points out that this is not the man’s first legal transgression, as he was previously convicted.
