The MPs are going on holiday. At the Parliament’s last meeting this session, the lawmakers admitted they had an intense session, which was full of provocations, conflicts, but achievements as well. The MPs of the Alliance for European Integrations mostly praised the works of this session, while unaffiliated MPs accused the parliamentary majority of irresponsibility, Info-Prim Neo reports.

The leader of the Liberal-Democratic group Valeriu Strelet admitted that the spring-summer session wasn’t simple at all, with the opposition boycotting meetings and calling for public disorders and civil disobedience. “We managed to adopt the bills that conditioned Moldova’s advancement to the next stage of achievement of strategic goals. However, we had to pass through artificial public actions and media campaigns that divided society. It was an intense session, the most busy and tensioned, but we resisted and strengthened ourselves”, said Valeriu Strelet.

The leader of the Democrat group Dumitru Diacov highlighted the end of the political crisis that affected Moldova in recent years as the biggest achievement of the lawmakers. “This gave us the chance to fulfill the promises we made at the beginning of the mandate, to be better, smarter and more prepared at the end of the session. Unfortunately, we anger too easily and this leaves an unwanted mark on society. In this session, we failed to bring peace and calm in Moldova and to assure the people we’re moving towards a safer future”, he said.

Ion Hadarca, head of the Liberal group, noted that the Liberals were the most diligent with 35 proposed laws, 11 of which were adopted. He complained that the parliamentary majority didn’t distribute functions in the permanent bureau and committees fairly. He also added that the Parliament failed to adopt a new Code of Education and a new Broadcasting Code.

Igor Dodon, leader of the Socialist group, labeled the AIE and PCRM MPs as cynics. “We started the session without the Communist group and we end it without them. We gave you the chance to assure economic growth, to solve the most urgent problems, but you remained passive and ignored our proposals. You would better prolong the session, but you just wish to leave sooner so I bid you to enjoy your holidays!”, he declared.

Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea thinks the biggest achievements were the election of the President and overcoming the political crisis. Nonetheless, he accused the Alliance of irresponsibility and of not fulfilling the commitments assumed at the election of the President.

The MPs will return to Parliament for the fall-winter session.
