On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Moldova’s Independence, IPN News Agency decided to depict the portrait of the current Republic of Moldova. For the purpose, it provoked a number of people, including state officials, politicians, businessmen, civil rights activists and persons without posts and titles, but who have what to say. Ciprian Raetski, sixth grader, does video blogging: The politicians should be chosen correctly, but the people vote for them according to their popularity and these abuse and do not properly manage the country.
Ciprian Raetski said the Republic of Moldova on the 25th anniversary of its Independence is a nice country that looks yet pitiful from political and economic viewpoints. In Moldova, there are no honest and good MPs able to manage the country so that this prospers and develops. The state has big chances of developing in a European way, but the issue is that it cannot be named at least independent as long as there are Russian troops on its territory and a part of its territory is not controlled by the constitutional authorities.
Ciprian considers the politicians should be chosen correctly, but the people vote for them according to their popularity and these abuse and do not manage the country in the interests of the people. “We have good people who can manage the country appropriately, but they are not voted or do not become involved in politics because they see that it is useless and decide to better leave the country. In our country, the MPs pursue the goal of gaining money and popularity and think only about themselves, not about the people and the good of this country,” he stated.
Among the accomplishments of the last few years, the student mentioned the possibility of travelling visa-free to the EU, the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union, the fact that there are many good programmers and IT specialists in Moldova and these become top professionals in Europe. The bank frauds, the inappropriate government system that cannot foster the country’s development and the many economic problems are among the big failures.
Ciprian Raetski considers that the Moldovans do not do much volunteering, but this would help them develop the country and personally. “We could change things this way. Maybe we, together with the friends, should go and clean a park or a playground?” asked he rhetorically.
Asked if he will become involved in politics when he grows up, Ciprian Raetschi said he will do it only if he is convinced that he is offered the chance to change the situation in the country. “In seven years, when I am 18, I hope that Moldova will be a different country. It depends who is chosen Head of State this year. If Maia Sandu is elected, I think that our country will move more towards the EU. If Igor Dodon, who thinks that he has the greatest chances on the opposite side, wins, I don’t think we will advance much and I think we will be influenced more by Russia,” stated the student.
Ciprian wants to study at a university abroad, in Europe, and could then return to Moldova, if he sees that he can have a well-paid job here and there are many chances for the young people to build a career and to develop.
“The Republic of Moldova, on the 25th anniversary of its Independence, can be compared with a bird. The Russians are hunters, while Europe is the nest. Moldova, the bird, who was initially locked in the cage, gained independence and left the cage. It flies, but does not manage to return to the nest, where it could be safe. We are too small and can have a better life only in the nest,” said the child.
Ciprian Raetski wants Moldova to be in Europe, to be able to advance on the path of European integration, to become more independent, not to have problems with the Russian gas, to create more possibilities for the young people and more jobs. If a smaller child asked him why he should be proud of his country, Ciprian would tell him to do it because, even if the country’s history is very tumultuous, Moldova resisted in time and the Moldovans are hospitable people with nice traditions and delicious national cousin.
