Metalferos increased its sales revenues by almost 60% in 2025 compared to the previous year, reaching 437.8 million lei, but ended the year with a net loss of 26.8 million lei, according to the company’s financial statements. The amount is over three million lei higher than in 2024, when the company reported losses of 23.75 million lei, IPN reports.
In 2025, Metalferos had distribution costs of 55.8 million lei, administrative expenses of 14.1 million lei, and other operational costs of 38.5 million lei. The financial activity also had a negative result. The financial revenues were 3.7 million lei, while the financial expenses reached 7.6 million lei, resulting in a financial loss of 3.9 million lei.
As a result, Metalferos reported a pre-tax loss of 26.9 million lei. Data from the Public Property Agency shows that the company’s net assets decreased from 299.1 million lei in 2024 to 272.3 million lei in 2025.
In 2025, the company did not calculate or pay dividends, in the context of the recorded loss. The latest dividends indicated in the data published by APP are those for the years 2021 and 2022, when the enterprise fully honored its obligations to the state budget.
Metalferos specializes in the collection, storage, processing, sorting, marketing, and export of ferrous and non-ferrous metal scraps and wastes, as well as used batteries and accumulators. The state owns 78.28% of the company’s shares.
