About 84% think Moldova is not ruled by the people’s will. If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, about 60% of the respondents would definitely go to vote, while 30% would probably go to vote or will most probably not go... Referring to the same issues, Transparency International – Moldova executive director Lilia Carasciuc gave as example the group of interests that obtained 1/5 of the vote in elections, but in time increased its presence and now has control of Parliament. There is an interdependence between the interests of national and local political forces, Veaceslav Craciun, opinion leader from Comrat, noted in an article entitled “Regional parties in Gagauz-Yeri: between risks and opportunities”. These things should exist in the Republic of Moldova,” stated Bartłomiej Zdaniuk, adding juridical, geopolitical and financial predictability should be ensured first and foremost.
Four of the five judges investigated in the “bribery for judges” case were suspended from posts. Besides acts of corruption, the investigated judges will also be charged with interference in the administration of justice and prosecution and with the passing of illegal judgments or sentences. Criminal proceedings over such acts can be brought only with the preliminary consent of the Superior Council of Magistracy, unlike the investigation for acts of corruption.
Most of the people live yet in other circumstances were the persons with disabilities should not be regarded only as recipients of allowances. All the people are equal members of society, either they have disabilities or not, said Vitalie Meșter, executive director of the Center for Legal Assistance for Persons with Disabilities. “A lot of work is yet to be done in Moldova to ensure the observance of the rights of persons with disabilities. Things go on, but the steps are small and an acceleration is wanted,” he stated.
