Moldova becomes eligible to participate, under the same conditions as EU Member States, in projects financed under the “Employment and Social Innovation” component – EaSI of the European Social Fund Plus. According to the document, organizations and institutions in the country will be able to obtain European grants to reduce unemployment, support vulnerable groups and improve working conditions, IPN reports.
The new framework for participation has been set out in a regulation approved by the cabinet of ministers, which defines the eligibility conditions, forms of funding and areas eligible for support. The program’s priorities include workforce mobility, the development of social services and the promotion of innovation in public policies.
“It is a project that helps us to increase care for vulnerable groups in society”, Prime Minister Dorin Recean told the Cabinet of Ministers meeting.
EaSI is a European program with a total budget of €762 million for the period 2021-2027. Moldova’s participation was made possible on the basis of the agreement signed in May 2024 in Brussels and subsequently ratified by the Parliament. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will be responsible for project coordination and communication with European authorities.
