Two young women and a man have been convicted of theft on the basis of the evidence provided by the Botanica Prosecutor’s Office, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The first woman aged 18 was sentenced to three years in jail, including two years’ probation, while the second woman aged 19 was given one year’s probation. The 30-year-old man got seven years.
According to the prosecutors, in March this year the two women, through the agency of the paper Makler, got acquainted with a 50-year-old man who wanted to establish a family.
The meeting took place in a Chisinau bar, where one of the women stole 6,100 euros from the man’s pocket while he was dancing. She gave the money to the other woman, who hid it under her clothes and left the bar.
The 30-year-old man was in the same bar. He saw what happened and when the woman went out he followed her and took the money from her.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
