In August, through licensed banks, foreign funds have been transferred to individuals in the net amount of $ 99.38 million. The figure is down by 2.6%, compared to August 2018. Most transfers come from the European Union – 46.3%, from the CIS – 22.5%, and from the rest of the world – 31.2%, IPN reports with reference to data from the National Bank of Moldova.
In the distribution by country of origin of the transfers to individuals, the transfers from Russia are noted, with a share of 21.4%, which represent 21.25 million dollars. Transfers from Israel made up 18.4% ($ 18.26 million), and from Italy – 12.1% ($ 12.03 million). Transfers from other states are below 10%.
As to the currency structure, transfers in Euro constituted 54.5%, increasing by 8.3 percentage points in August 2018. These are followed by transfers in US dollars – 40.4%, decreasing by 5, 8 percentage points and those in Russian rubles – 5.1%, down by 2.5 percentage points.
During the January-August 2019 period, the total volume of bank transfers of money from abroad to individuals from the Republic of Moldova amounted to 802.88 million dollars, 6.5% less than in the same period of the previous year.
