The production of apricots and peaches in Moldova is increasing compared to the previous season, and the quality of the fruits allows for the expansion of exports to international markets. Producers say that this year’s fruits stand out for their size, color, firmness, and high sugar content, which makes them attractive for foreign trade, reports IPN.

According to the Moldova Fruct Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters, the larger harvest is the result of investments made in recent years in irrigation systems, orchard protection, and modern production technologies. At the same time, producers are increasingly opting for varieties adapted to local climatic conditions and are developing the necessary infrastructure for storing and preparing fruits for export.

This year’s apricot production is estimated at 15-17 thousand tons.

In the past season, the main market for Moldovan apricots was Romania, followed by Ukraine and Serbia. At the same time, deliveries to Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, Croatia, and Hungary indicate a growing presence of Moldovan fruits on the European Union market.

108 schools across the country will receive educational equipment for chemistry, physics and biology classes

Students from 108 schools will learn in laboratories equipped with robotics, digital microscopy, and 3D printing equipment, distributed by the Ministry of Education and Research through the “Improving the Quality of Education” Project. The value of the investment is approximately 4.8 million lei and the funding is ensured with the support of the World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education, reports IPN.

According to the MEC, the set includes multifunctional platforms for physics, chemistry and biology experiments. These platforms are equipped with sensors that allow the measurement of temperature, light, pressure and other parameters. The data collected during the experiments are displayed and graphically represented, helping students to analyze and evaluate the phenomena and reactions studied.

Electronic circuits and digital multimeters will also be distributed for physics classes. With their help, students will be able to study the operation of electrical circuits and measure voltage, intensity, and resistance.

The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Research, Valentina Olaru, stated that the new equipment will help students learn through practical activities. In her opinion, these facilities will contribute to the development of critical thinking, creativity and skills necessary for future professions.

The 108 institutions are part of the list of the 200 educational institutions benefiting from the “Improvement of Education Quality” Project.
