The Parliament has already adopted dozens of laws for the transposition of European legislation, but the bulk of the work is yet to come in the second half of the year. The statement was made by the president of the Parliamentary Commission for European Integration, PAS deputy Marcel Spatari, in an interview for IPN.

According to the official, over 300 legislative acts necessary for alignment with the community acquis are planned for 2026, of which about 50 have already been adopted. The rest are to be examined in the next parliamentary session.

Marcel Spatari mentioned that, regardless of the pace of political negotiations at the European Union level, the Republic of Moldova continues its reform agenda and the preparation of institutions for the application of European standards. According to him, significant progress was made in the first half of the year in the accession process, including the political opening of two negotiation clusters with the European Union. These establish the criteria and reforms that the Republic of Moldova must meet to advance the negotiations.

The deputy emphasized that European integration does not only mean the adoption of laws, but also the modernization of public systems, the strengthening of institutions, and the preparation of the economy for integration into the single European market.

At the same time, Marcel Spatari highlighted Romania’s role in supporting the European path of the Republic of Moldova. According to him, the relations between the two states are very good at both parliamentary and governmental levels, and Romania continues to be an active supporter of Chisinau. The deputy also mentioned the joint infrastructure, education and culture projects implemented in recent years with the support of Romanian authorities.
