Alexandr Trubca resigns from his deputy mandate following controversies regarding the real estate investment

The deputy of the Party of Action and Solidarity, Alexandr Trubca, announced that he is giving up his parliamentary mandate, a few days after the emergence of controversies related to a real estate investment in the commune of Truseni. The parliamentarian stated that his economic activity affects the image and credibility of the formation he is part of, reports IPN.

“Today I submitted my resignation from the deputy mandate. Given that the subject of my economic activity affects the image and credibility of the entire team, I cannot act otherwise,” wrote Alexandr Trubca.

The deputy maintains that his public statements on this matter remain valid and is awaiting the conclusions of the National Integrity Authority, after personally requesting a review of the situation. “It is up to the NIA to conclude the review that I myself requested and to make a decision,” he stated.

Alexandr Trubca mentioned that he will remain a member of the Action and Solidarity Party and will continue to support the party’s objective regarding the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union.

The controversies arose after the deputy announced publicly about a real estate investment in a project in the Truseni commune, before the publication of a journalistic investigation on this subject. He stated that the investment is legal, does not involve public funds, and does not create a conflict of interest.

The month of August begins with scorching weather, against the backdrop of a warm air wave coming from northern Africa. According to the Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, in the first week of the month, temperatures will reach up to +36 degrees Celsius, and there will be no precipitation.

Contacted by IPN, meteorologist Nadejda Stolear stated that daytime temperatures will gradually increase from +28..+33 degrees Celsius, recorded on July 31, to +31..+36 degrees Celsius in the following days.

During the night, the temperature values will rise from +13..+18 degrees Celsius to +17..+22 degrees Celsius.

The meteorologist specifies that temperatures of +33..+36 degrees Celsius fall within the heatwave values, and starting from tomorrow a yellow heatwave warning could be issued.

The four former members of the Savings Bank’s Credit Committee, along with the former BEM president, Grigore Gacikevici, were sentenced to penalties ranging from 5 to 13 years in prison for violating lending rules. The court also ordered the joint recovery from the defendants of over 1.6 billion lei in favor of BEM, reports IPN.

According to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, two former members of the Committee received eight years of imprisonment each, another one – seven years, of which three years and six months to be served, with the rest of the sentence being suspended for three years. The fourth defendant was sentenced to five years of imprisonment, with the execution of the sentence being suspended for a term of three years.

According to the accusation, during the period 2005-2012, the defendants allegedly granted non-performing loans to economic agents, without a proper evaluation of their repayment capacity and, in some cases, based on incomplete files.

In the same case, Grigore Gacikevici was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Until the sentence becomes final, four of the defendants were placed in pretrial detention, and one was prohibited from leaving the country.
