Beijing on Friday increased its tariffs on U.S. imports to 125%, hitting back against U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to hike duties on Chinese goods to 145%, IPN reports.

“The application of abnormally increased tariffs by the U.S. on China seriously violates international and economic trade rules, basic economic laws and common sense, and amounts to completely unilateral harassment and coercion,” China’s finance ministry was quoted as saying by Reuters.

Washington exported €12 billion in goods to China in 2024, representing 21 percent of the state’s total goods exports last year, according to the Office of the United States Trade Representative.

The weather will gradually warm up in the coming days. The sky will be variable, and on Saturday, locally in the north, and on Monday, isolated, light short-term rains are forecasted, accompanied by electrical discharges, reports IPN.

According to the Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, the minimum temperatures will range between +11 and +17 degrees Celsius, and the maximums will gradually rise from +23..+28 degrees to +28..+33 degrees on Monday.

The wind will blow from the northwest, weak to moderate, and the atmospheric pressure will remain within normal limits.

At the same time, the yellow fire hazard code remains in effect until July 31. Due to the precipitation deficit, the exceptional risk of vegetation fires persists over most of the territory and has extended to the regions in the north and south of the country.

The composition of the National Commission for European Integration has been updated following the inauguration of the new Government led by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan. The changes were made through a decree signed by President Maia Sand, reports IPN.

According to the document, Vasile Tofan replaces Alexandru Munteanu as Prime Minister and member of the Commission. At the same time, the former Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Ludmila Catlabuga, was excluded from the Commission without a deputy being designated, in the context of the resignation of the new minister, Radu Musteata. The decree also updates the roles of the other members of the executive who are part of the Commission.

The Committee includes Dorian Istratii, vice-president of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance, replacing Radu Marian, who resigned from his position as president of the parliamentary committee. At the same time, the interim general director of the National Agency for Food Safety, Alexandr Manciu, replaces the former director of the institution, Radu Musteata.

Daniela Vidaicu becomes the representative in the Commission of the National Platform of Moldova of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, replacing Sergiu Gurau. Also, Ana Groza replaces Leonid Cerescu as the president of the National Confederation of Employers.

The National Commission for European Integration coordinates the process of implementing the reforms necessary for the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union and ensures cooperation between public authorities and other institutions involved in the country’s European journey.
