Ukraine has submitted to the authorities of the Republic of Moldova the results of the analyses related to poultry meat, carried out in a European laboratory, and is now awaiting the decision on resuming exports to Moldova of the products of one of the largest Ukrainian producers, reports IPN.
The official letter in this regard was sent by the interim head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Andrei Creitor, to the director of the National Agency for Food Safety of the Republic of Moldova, Radu Musteata.
This is about the implementation of agreements agreed upon between the regulatory authorities of the two countries during an online meeting on March 12.
In turn, ANSA confirmed the receipt of the transmitted results. The head of the institution’s press service, Mariana Grati, stated that the agency will soon present the conclusions of the European laboratory’s report.
The research was conducted in an accredited European laboratory, using methods that comply with the requirements of European Union legislation. The analyses aimed to determine the residual amounts of metronidazole – a substance whose use in the production of animal origin products is subject to strict control.
The samples for analysis were collected by an authorized committee, including representatives of state control bodies, the national veterinary laboratory, and the market operator. A total of 72 blood serum samples were collected from broiler chickens of all ages, properly sealed and documented, then sent to the laboratory for analysis.
