The Judo Championship of the Republic of Moldova for seniors, held on Wednesday at the Chisinau Arena, has found its winners in all weight categories, reports IPN.

In the men’s category, the gold medals were won by: Alexandr Tirsina (-60 kg), Radu Izvorianu (-66 kg), Adil Osmanov (-73 kg), Petru Pelivan (-81 kg), Mihail Latisev (-90 kg), Vadim Ghimbovschi (-100 kg) and Alin Bagrin (+100 kg).

In the women’s category, the national champion titles were awarded to the following athletes: Xenia Vainer (-48 kg), Alexandra Chiron (-52 kg), Daniela Tcaci (-57 kg), Maria Rusu (-63 kg), Madina Duminica (-70 kg), Tatiana Procopciuc (-78 kg) and Oxana Diacenco (+78 kg).

Previously, Mihail Latisev became the only Moldovan judoka to win a medal at the European U-23 Championship, held in Chisinau, becoming the runner-up in the weight category up to 90 kilograms.

A car exploded in a parking lot in Chisinau

A car exploded on Friday in a parking lot on Uzinelor Street in Chisinau. Contacted by IPN, the press officer of the Chisinau City Police Directorate, Cristina Talpa, specified that, from the first indications, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder located in the trunk.

Cristina Talpa stated that no one was injured, however the explosion damaged five cars parked nearby.

The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Tatiana Muntean, clarified to IPN that the call to the 112 Service was received at 02:55 PM. Upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters determined that there had been an explosion without fire. Following the incident, the IGSU employees ensured fire protection and disconnected the terminals from the battery to prevent a fire outbreak.

Law enforcement officers are set to determine the circumstances of the explosion’s occurrence.

Previously, Mihail Latisev became the only Moldovan judoka to win a medal at the European U-23 Championship, held in Chisinau, becoming the runner-up in the weight category up to 90 kilograms.

Traffic on a section of Sarmizegetusa Street in the capital will be suspended at night, from Friday, July 24 until Sunday, July 26. According to the Chisinau City Hall, the restrictions are imposed in order to carry out road rehabilitation works, reports IPN.

The municipality specifies that road traffic will be halted on the segment between Burebista and Cuza-Voda streets, during the hours 10:00 PM-07:00 AM, and during the works, the trolleybus contact network will also be disconnected.

Therefore, the trolleybus traffic on routes 20 and 28 will be reorganized. The vehicles will travel on Muncesti road, in both directions, until the completion of the works.

The municipal authorities urge drivers and travelers to take into account the changes made and to plan their journeys in advance to avoid areas affected by restrictions.
