Stoianoglo promises better relations with neighbors, but also EU, US, Russia and China

PSRM presidential candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo says that as president of the country, he will establish and develop friendly relations with all development partners, first of all with neighbors – Ukraine, Romania, but also with development partners, the EU, the US, Russia and China. These statements were made during the electoral debates with his opponent in the second round of the elections, Maia Sandu, reports IPN.

Aleksandr Stoianoglo is confident that relations with Ukraine, including economic ones, will be closer than at present. “We support Ukraine in the war that is in the current time. We provide for the citizens of Ukraine the necessary humanitarian aid,” said Alexandr Stoianoglo, responding to Maia Sandu’s question about how he would build relations with Ukraine if he were to get the presidential mandate.

The PSRM candidate also said that Moldova’s relations with Ukraine at the moment are exclusively declarative and that he has only seen militaristic statements by the current government on the war in Ukraine and no peace and ceasefire initiatives.

Stoianoglo insisted that he was promoting a platform that would allow to look differently at the war in Ukraine, to establish good relations, bilateral relations that would be beneficial for both Ukraine and Moldova.

In this context, Maia Sandu replied that “those in Kiev know that Stoianoglo is ‘Moscow’s man’, and behind him is Igor Dodon, who says across the country that ‘наши ужее рядом’ (our people are already close)”. Sandu noted that at his election campaign launch event, Stoianoglo “did not find two words to say about the bomb attack on the hospital for children with cancer (in Ukraine), where there were children from Moldova”, which will not make him credible to establish good relations with Ukraine.

The “Eugen Doga” International Airport in Chisinau has launched a public tender for the current repair and maintenance of the asphalt concrete surfaces of the aerodrome platform. The estimated value of the contract is 67.2 million lei, excluding VAT, reports IPN.

According to the announcement published on the public procurement platform, bids can be submitted during the period of August 3-17, after the clarification request stage has ended, which will take place until August 3.

According to the technical documentation, a large part of the investment is intended for the repair of platform no. 1, where the aircraft parking spots are located. The verified estimate for these works is approximately 55 million lei, including VAT.

The repairs are not limited to the area where the aircraft are stationed, but also target the infrastructure used daily by airport services. Thus, the repairs also include the connection area between the control point and the aerodrome platform, the parking area designated for airport vehicles, the area where the workshops and material depots are located, as well as the area of the fuel supply station. At the same time, work will also be carried out on the access road to the passenger terminal.

The specification book indicates that the need for interventions was identified following technical inspections. The documentation further stipulates that the interventions will be carried out in operational areas and with restricted access, without affecting the airport’s activity.
