The National Museum of Romanian Literature will have a Creative Residence, dedicated to supporting writers, translators, illustrators, and visual artists. They will benefit from space, resources, and programs designed to stimulate creativity, from workshops and residencies, to exhibitions, conferences, reading clubs, and mentoring for young people, reports IPN.

The launch of the Residence takes place due to the signing of a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Culture, the National Museum of Romanian Literature, and the Innovate Moldova Program, funded by Sweden.

The Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan, stated that the project marks an important stage for the development of creative industries. “The Creative Residence of the National Museum of Romanian Literature will become a hub for artistic expression, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the involvement of young creators,” concluded the minister.

Traces of structures made from mammoth bones, dating back approximately 25 thousand years, were discovered at the archaeological site of Climautii de Jos, in the Soldanesti district. The research is conducted by archaeologists and students from Moldova, France and the United Kingdom, reports IPN.

The research project, now in its third year of international collaboration, aims to document the prehistoric past of the Republic of Moldova. The British Embassy mentions that the activities carried out provide participants with the opportunity to conduct research and exchange experiences, as well as to receive training.

The Paleolithic site of Climautii de Jos II is considered one of the most important prehistoric sites in the Republic of Moldova. Archaeological research was resumed in 2024, when four verification excavations were carried out to identify possible constructions made from mammoth bones.

The Republic of Moldova is set to implement another 40 measures from the 2025-2027 Reform Agenda, in the second half of the year. The next stage of reforms and the utilization of the support offered by the EU were discussed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan with the Director-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood of the European Commission, Gert Jan Koopman, reports IPN.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan stated that the objective of the new Government is to relaunch the economy by stimulating investments, efficiently capitalizing on the opportunities offered by the Growth Plan, and accelerating reforms. These are expected to contribute to the economic development and integration of the Republic of Moldova into the EU.

At the same time, another topic of discussion was the implementation of the 2025-2027 Reform Agenda and the preparation for the next stage of fulfilling the commitments undertaken. Currently, Moldova has achieved 95% of the actions envisaged in the agenda, the highest level among the candidate states for accession.

At the end of the meeting, the two officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the pace of reforms and fully utilizing the support offered by the EU for the modernization of the economy and the improvement of the citizens’ standard of living.

In the event of a positive assessment from the European Commission, the Republic of Moldova will benefit in September from a new tranche worth 157 million euros from the Growth Plan.
