Maia Sandu, on Ukraine’s Independence Day: We honor the courage of our neighboring people

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, today conveyed a message of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, on the occasion of the neighboring state’s Independence Day, reports IPN.

“Today, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, we honor the courage of our neighboring people, who defend their right to freedom every day. Standing up to barbaric aggression, Ukrainians prevent the war from spreading, thereby protecting our peace and sovereignty as well,” says Maia Sandu.

And the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, sent a message of congratulations and confidence in Ukraine’s victory: “We all want a free, independent, and peaceful Ukraine. I am convinced that Ukraine will prevail, I believe in the Ukrainian people.”

In the message of Prime Minister Dorin Recean, it is stated that Ukraine “every day, demonstrates to the whole world what devotion to homeland and freedom means, defends its sovereignty and protects not only its own peace, but also the security of the entire region.”

In a sign of solidarity, the square of the Parliament in Chisinau was illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag – blue and yellow.

Today, Ukrainians are celebrating 34 years of independence, proclaimed on August 24, 1991.

A new section of Muncesti Road has entered the rehabilitation process. The City Hall of Chisinau announces that the milling works on the roadway have begun on the sector between Arca Moldovei Street and Bacioii Noi Street, a stage that precedes the complete modernization of the asphalt surface, reports IPN.

On this section, with an area of approximately 23 thousand square meters, two layers of asphalt concrete are to be applied, the stormwater drainage channels are to be rehabilitated, and the shoulders are to be arranged with crushed stone.

In parallel, on the sector between Arca Moldovei Street and Iuri Gagarin Boulevard, the rehabilitation works using Slurry Seal technology are nearing completion. During this period, the second layer, the wear layer, is being applied, which serves to protect the road surface and extend its service life.

According to the municipality, after the completion of the works, Muncesti Road will have a modernized roadway, with better traffic conditions and an increased level of safety for traffic participants.
