Moldova further counts on Romania's support in the process of European integration, Moldovan Prime-Minister Zinaida Greceanai stated during her working visit to Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Premier had meetings with Romanian President Traian Basescu, Prime-Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu and her Montenegrin counterpart Milo Djucanovic on October 23 in Bucharest. According to the Moldovan Government's press service, both Romania's President and Premier reconfirmed their support for Moldova's European aspirations and for including it into the Western Balkans package in this process. Zinaida Greceanai thanked the Romanian President for his country's supporting Moldova at the last European Council and expressed hope the support of the Romanian authorities would be as substantial in the future, during holding the talks with the European Union concerning the areas mentioned in the Conclusions of the heads of states in Brussels. The Moldovan Prime-Minister expressed confidence that the results of the session of the Moldo-Romanian Intergovernmental Commission will boost the bilateral economic and commercial relations, as the bilateral trade surged 60% during the first 9 months of the year. “Romania remains a good friend and a partner in Moldova's economic development,” she said. The Romanian Premier stated that, after Romania had become the main commercial partner of Moldova in August, the next target was to reach a threshold of 1 billion euros in terms of trade till the year-end. They also discussed on opening the border-crossing point at the Lipcani-Radauti bridge, in the infrastructure of which the Moldovan side invested significantly with the support of the EU. Calin Popescu Tariceanu instructed his subalterns to consider the situation of that border-crossing and to step up its opening. The sides also tackled issues concerning road infrastructure, energy, etc. On Thursday, in the Victoria Palace in Bucharest, Montenegro's Premier Milo Djucanovic signed the Charter of the South-East European Cooperation Process, in the presence of the Moldovan and Romanian Prime-Ministers.
