Zelenskyy: Ukraine will not continue Russian gas transit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine will not deal with the continuation of Russian gas transit, Interfax-Ukraine reports, cited by IPN.

"We will not be involved in the prolongation of Russian gas transit, we will not provide the opportunity to earn additional billions on our blood. Any country in the world, which can get something cheap from Russia, will become dependent on the Russian Federation, - eventually, tomorrow or in a month, or a year. These are their policies. Therefore, we will not transit Russian gas," Zelenskyy told a press conference in Brussels on Thursday, according to the source.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will not allow additional revenues to the Russian Federation.

About the fact that Ukraine will not extend the Russian gas transit agreement, which expires on January 1, 2025, the Ukrainian President announced as early as this summer. The contract to pump Russian gas to Europe was signed between Gazprom and Naftogaz in 2019.
