The police in Chisinau arrested a 29-year-old woman from Cimislia town on suspicion that she was trafficking in persons. She was earlier tried for procuring. The young woman recruited minor girls for prostitution and accommodated them at an apartment in Chisinau. The police have identified five girls aged between 15 and 17 recruited by the woman, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Chisinau Police Division, the woman found recruits through social networking sites. She coordinated all actions with the prostitutes by phone.

When searching her, the police found banknotes received from the prostitutes on her. The woman will be under arrest for 20 days and is investigated for trafficking in children and in human beings.  She faces 15 to 20 years in jail or life.
