More than 50 young people selected at a contest from almost 500 applicants are participating in the summer camp “Financial Education for All”, organized by the National Bank of Moldova in partnership with the Independent Think tank “Expert-Grup”. NBM governor Anca Dragu said that this camp is a concept of training and interactive adaptation to the changes that are constantly taking place in the financial environment. “Investing in the financial education of our young people is essential for the development of a stable and prosperous economy,” Anca Dragu said in the camp launch event, IPN reports.
For three days, the participants will learn new and necessary things to be able to cope in the financial world. “Through this camp, we want to provide participants with the tools and knowledge they need to confidently navigate the complex world of finance. It is vital to cultivate financial responsibility from an early age to ensure a safe and prosperous future for all,” stated Anca Dragu.
During the summer camp, the young people will explore the world of finance and find out what it means to be responsible and independent in making financial decisions, how to save and invest efficiently, what the role of the central bank is and how it influences the economy of the Republic of Moldova, about inflation, taxes and charges.
The camp participants will be encouraged in their effort to know the financial basics in order to gain confidence and autonomy in managing money and making informed financial decisions.
The first edition of the summer camp is organized within the National Campaign “Financial Education for All”, which is carried out with the support of the USAID Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity (MISRA).
