A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for violating traffic safety rules, recklessly causing the death of a person. The driver did not have a driving license. He admitted his guilt.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the tragedy occurred last fall, October 2024, in the evening hours. "The young man got behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, and when he made the reverse maneuver on a street in the village of Cetireni, he did not ensure himself and, as a result, hit a 43-year-old woman, who died the next day at the Ungheni rayon hospital".

The sentence was handed down by the Ungheni District Prosecutor's Office, but is subject to appeal. The young man admitted his guilt, IPN reports.
