Young graduates and unemployed persons to be trained at enterprises

The unskilled unemployed persons and young graduates will be trained at enterprises, A pilot project to train these at the workplace, for which the International Labor Organization offers Moldova US$ 40,000, will start on August 1, IPN reports.

Raisa Dogaru, director of the National Employment Agency, told a news conference that contracts will be signed between professional education institutions, business entities and persons looking for a job. The contracts envision 15% training at the school and 85% training at the enterprise. Afterward, the trained person will get a qualification certificate and is to be employed at the company where this was tutored. “The piloting will show if the measure is opportune for the labor market of the Republic of Moldova and the project would be later developed on a large scale,” stated Raisa Dogaru.

Project coordinator Violeta Vrabie said the goal is to generate decent work opportunities for the country’s population. “The lack of work experience for those who enter the labor market for the first time and employers’ reluctance to hire them are challenges faced on the domestic labor market,” stated Violeta Vrabie.

In the Republic of Moldova, the unemployment rate stands at 6.3%.
