Year 2022 in education was marked by higher education system reform

For the Ministry of Education and Research, the year 2022 was under the sign of the reformation of the higher education and research systems through the merger of universities and academic institutions. There were designed and implemented a number of other projects to develop and improve the education system, shows a summing up video disseminated by the Government at the end of the year.

The education authorities mentioned the adoption of the law on dual education, which enables to cover up to 50% of the costs incurred by the business entity for instituting dual education and to increase the remuneration for students involved in this program.

Seven universities and six teacher-training colleges obtained financing totaling €14.3 million for improving the programs of studies, training teachers and equipping halls, laboratories and research centers.

Twenty-one technical vocational institutions and 22 business entities received €700,000 worth of grants for strengthening the dual education system.

The Ministry of Education also noted the doubling of the annual one-off payment intended for teachers in general education, from 2,000 to 4,000 lei, for about 43,000 persons.

The monthly stipends of professional athletes were also doubled, with an extra 15 million lei being allocated for the purpose.

Among the accomplishments in education in 2022 is also the fact that the Republic of Moldova joined the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation – Horizon Europe.
