Wrestler Irina Ringaci (65 kg) won the silver medal at the tournament in Tirana, Albania. In the final, she lost to Japan's Miwa Morikawa, having to withdraw due to injury, IPN reports.

United World Wrestling, the international governing body in wrestling, says Irina Ringaci withdrew injured her knee midway through the final, while leading 6-3.

The two wrestlers had previously met in their first-round group match, which Ringaci won 6-5 despite a solid comeback by Japan's Miwa Morikawa.

This was the sportswomen's second meeting since the final of the 2021 World Championships in Oslo, which Ringaci won.
